Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers. If your question is not here, write to raysmoneyladder@gmail.com.

Is Ray a real person?

No. Ray is an animated character, and his voice is synthetic. Every video is researched and written by a real person, and every figure comes from an official source cited in the description.

Is this financial advice?

No. It is general education, not personal advice. Ray does not know your situation, and he never recommends a stock, fund, crypto, broker, or financial product. For an important decision, check the official source or talk to a qualified professional you choose.

Where do the numbers come from?

From official sources, such as the Social Security Administration, the IRS, Medicare.gov, the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Every source is listed in the video description. Figures that change each year are labeled with their year.

Is the Toolkit really free?

Yes. Ray's Money Ladder Toolkit is a free printable guide. You download it right away after signing up. There is nothing to sell inside, and no credit card is ever asked.

Do you sell my email address?

No. We never sell, rent, or share your email address. We keep your email, your first name if you give it, the link that brought you, and the date, only to send you the Toolkit and Ray's emails. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email. It takes one click, and you will not get any more emails. You can also ask us to delete your address completely.

What emails will I get?

A welcome email with the Toolkit, six short emails during your first month (who Ray is, then one simple step for each level of the ladder), and one email a week, "This week with Ray", on Sunday. Never more than one email a day. No new content, no email.

Who is the channel for?

Mostly Americans 50 and over who want to understand saving, debt, Social Security, and retirement without jargon. Anyone is welcome.

Do you earn money from what you recommend?

No. We do not recommend financial products, and there are no affiliate links on this website. The Resources page lists only free official tools from government agencies and public programs.

I found a mistake. What should I do?

Thank you. Write to raysmoneyladder@gmail.com with the video title and the figure. A real person checks it against the source and corrects it.
